3 New Year’s Resolutions Salespeople Should Keep

Most of us make New Year’s Resolutions at the start of the year of ways we can improve ourselves over the next 12 months – and the same ambitions should be applied to your work habits.

Here are three goals all salespeople should have for 2019.

1)    Training

No matter how skilled you are in selling, there is always room for improvement. Techniques are changing all the time, as well as the clients you are dealing with, so it is important you embark on sales training in Cheshire to keep up to date with the developments, so you can continue to target your clientele in the most effective way.

2)    Don’t take customers for granted

While many businesses will be gearing up to find new customers in 2019, driven with new enthusiasm to add to their client list, it is essential you do not forget existing clientele.

You will not be able to build a bigger business if your current clients decide to leave, so make sure you continue to pay them attention and provide the services they need, Gregg Schwartz from Strategic Sales & Marketing told Entrepeneur.com.

Not only do you know they are reliable, but they present opportunities for you to upsell as they are already familiar with your business and trust you.

3)    Long-term plan

It can be easy to throw all your energy into trying to make sales in January, but this is a notoriously difficult time of the year as people and businesses tighten their purse strings.

Instead, create a 12-month plan so you can continue selling with the same enthusiasm throughout the year, seizing the chance to take on more business when others are finally ready.
