At Quotall Marketing, I run what is effectively a marketing agency working within the niche UK insurance sector. We offer a range of digital marketing services including PPC, SEO, website builds, Content marketing and Social Media marketing management.

We have a number of longstanding clients but recently wished to expand our new business development efforts. We invited Martin to work with our business development team. The brief included:

·      Helping to define core proposition to business owners and managers in a sector which doesn’t typically have a great knowledge of digital marketing.

·      Improving the quality of outbound call productivity and appointment setting through prospect validation and needs assessment.

·      Improve the efficiency of our sales processes.

·      Improve the amount and value of closed business.

Martin worked closely with the team, first spending time watching and listening to how sales calls were conducted, before implementing a number of changes and improvements. He then coached the staff as they made live sales calls. Within 6 days, the results were remarkable:

·      Increased engagement saw ‘talk time’ move from less than 2 minutes through to over 5 minutes.

·      Simpler presentation of initial proposition resulted in calls to decision maker contact moving from 1 in 20 calls down to 1 in 9.

·      A shorter sales cycle; moving the time from initial contact through to proposal and contracts being issued from 8 weeks down to 3.5.

·      In the ensuing business quarter following the training, we generated just less than £100,000 in new contracted revenues – a 50% increase Quarter over Quarter on any previous period for the business.

We have recently worked with Smart Sales Consulting to support one of their clients looking to restructure and expand their Sales Team in-line with planned business growth.

Martin Lloyd had already been working with the Managing Director to set out Key Objectives, a Sales Process Model & an Operating Rhythm which encompassed setting achievable and measurable targets as well as KPI’s to support the existing Team and to support future recruitment plans.
