70% Of Workforce Want Flexible Hours By 2025

An increasing number of employees want to enjoy flexible working conditions to allow them to create a better work/life balance, with 70 per cent of millennials hoping to achieve flexibility by 2025.

These days, employees can do most of their job on their smartphones and tablets, with those conducting sales training Cheshire often teaching those launching their careers how to adopt a more flexible approach to work, so they are able to conduct business wherever they are, and not just in the office.

This is compounded by research conducted by video web conferencing provide PowWowNow, which revealed 75 per cent of the workforce will be millennials within the next seven years, and the majority want a change towards more flexible conditions.

Indeed, two-thirds want to be able to work remotely more often rather than being office-based, which can be supported through advanced technology that allows employees to always ‘be connected’.

Head of Unified Communications at the company Jon Loftin told Verdict.co.uk there are many more technological advancements that could assist this change for future employees.

“[Wearing tech] could be incorporated in some way in the future. It’s difficult to see an improvement beyond a table computer, because a screen is necessary. VR might come into the workplace at some point, it would be helpful when discussing issues with customers, not being limited to a flat image,” he stated.

The use of smartphones is essential for most jobs these days, and recent research from Ofcom revealed people check their devices every 12 minutes, showing just how dependent Brits are on them.

Therefore, more staff could adopt a flexible approach to work, as they are most likely to be attached to their phones all hours of the day wherever they are.
